Discovery TDI

 Model of the car:Discovery TDI
General comments:I would not compare it to an SUV!
It is a real "All Terrain Vehicle" that
shares a great deal of its parts with the
LR88, LR109 or LR-Defender.
-> No need to worry when it gets rough!
(Just watch you thumb :-) )

I heard many complain about the high gas
consumption of 4.0ltr petrol engine.
Well, my Diesel behaves like a scotsman
and the character fits well to the Disco.
With additional underbody eservoirs the
range is extendable to above 2000km
(1200 miles). So I strongly recoment the
Diesels between 2.0 and 3.0 ltr.

The new 2.5TD5 does not even have a toothed
belt to worry about.
What things have gone wrong with the car:- Tax, insurance, service pretty expensive
- Low initial torque, you need clutch
until turbo is up
- Only few parking garages will fit the height
- My wife likes it as well, so I have to
use her FIAT to get to work :-( !
Previous car:- Volkswagen Iltis +++ MB Unimog
