Land Rover Discovery SE7
| | Model of the car: | Land Rover Discovery SE7 | | | General comments: | This is the most intersting vehicle I have ever owned.Typically I trade a vehicle in less than 2 years of ownership because I get bored, but not until I bought the Discovery.I have 80K miles on it and still the original tires.
The only repairs I had so far:a couple light bulbs,1 relay and engine header.Replace pads a couple times but not rotors.Overall is reliable as long as you stay away from the dealers, and that applies to any car make.Dealers like to replace everything and usally create future repair while doing it.
This car all it needs is an oil change every 5K-7K miles.Dont repair anything, drive it for 100k to 130K miles and then sell it.
I would trade it in for the new DiscoII if they had replace the engine.Even thought the motor is fine,it is a very old outdated Buick design from the 70's or 60's and it's needs to be updated.Maybe a BMW 4.0 would a great job but dont hope anymore since Ford owns LR.
I would rather push a LR than drive a Japanese SUV. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Engine outdated, bad Mileage, rear door access too small for loading kids to car seats, average overall quality, oil leaks since new(just ignore them) | | | Previous car: | Never had an SUV before, but I own and owned Mercedes 300SL,300CE,Porsche 911C4,Targa,BMW 325IC,M3 and M5. |
