Range Rover 4.6HSE
| | Model of the car: | Range Rover 4.6HSE | | | General comments: | During the first 50,000 mile I had no problem. The vehicle was under warranty and any problem I had was immediately fixed. However, 9000 miles later I have had all sorts of problems with the vehicle. I just got my driver side window fixed which was off track and a new battery total cost $600. The labor charge is what kills you. I still have work to be done on the vehicle to the tune of $5100. Which the labor is roughly $4500. I used to have a great service guy who knew my name and my vehicle and would often waive certains fees or find coupons to reduce fees. Now I have a company man that doesn't know anything about me or the vehicle. I have been very disappointed with the BILL JACOBS Land Rover dealership (ILLINOIS). I also owned a BMW which had numerous problems which they never fixed and eventually I had to get rid of it only after paying $5000 to them to fix the same problem just a different part. I am going to purchase the new 04 Range Rover but definitely not from them, if I have to ship it from California I don't care and if I have to drive to Indianapolis for service then so be it. They are very rude and it permeates from the top (management) down (service department). The bad part of it all is he owns 6 Land Rover dealerships in Illinois and there are two more however I do not know if he owns them, I am calling tomorrow. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Service is always an issue, once you are past warranty it seems the vehicle automatically begins to self-deconstruct. I have had my vehicle in the shop 5 times within 6 months. Gas consumption is a problem and electrical and light bulbs are also problematic. I have had to replace headlights and tailights twice. I only have 59k miles and it is a 98. | | | Previous car: | Ford Explorer, Expedition, Chevy Tahoe |
