| | Model of the car: | Series II | | | General comments: | There was only 1 model designation for 2000, so don't wonder why I didn't specify SD or SE. Look at the strengths & weaknesses I note below, but here is a major warning: my Disco lost control and rolled-over on a highway from a simple emergency lane change at 65 mph. It is now totaled and I am shocked that this would occur from an everyday emergency maneuver. Also, the reason for the low purchase price was that I bought a dealer demo with 5000 miles on it. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | very quirky placement of many controls, overly tall height has caused problems with mall garages, very few luxury features compared to competitors, tipsy feeling at times, rattles and squeaks more than expected, expensive CD changer option (stereo not compatible with 3rd party changers), oil change required expensive dealer service as no one else had the filter. | | | Previous car: | 2002 Cadillac Escalade (replaces the Disco!), 1998 Mitsubishi Montero, 1993 Jeep Wrangler |
